Roche Diabetes Care India has announced that their blood glucose monitoring device, the Accu-Chek Active, will now be manufactured in India as a part of the company’s commitment to improve access to diabetes care and meet the growing needs of the Indian market. The first batch of Accu-Chek Active meters manufactured in India is already available on the market.
Roche Diabetes Care India has announced that its blood glucose monitoring device, the Accu-Chek Active, will now be manufactured in India as a part of the company’s strategy to improve access to diabetes care and meet the growing needs of the Indian market. The manufacturing process is being carried out in collaboration with the company’s manufacturing partner Sanmina-SCI India Pvt. Ltd., and assembly and distribution partner, Parekh Integrated Services Pvt. Ltd. (PISPL).
The production of Accu-Chek Active meters will take place in Sanmina’s state-of-the-art multi-client manufacturing site in Chennai, India, in line with globally approved quality standards synonymous with the brand. The new Accu-Chek Active product packs will now proudly display the ‘Made in India’ tag. The decision to manufacture these products in India is aimed at making Accu-Chek Active more accessible to the growing number of people with diabetes in the country, while also contributing to the global sustainability goals of reducing the carbon footprint versus imports.
The move is in line with Roche’s commitment to improving access to diabetes care by shortening their time to market and becoming more sustainable in their operations by reducing their carbon footprint. Roche Diabetes Care India offers integrated personalized diabetes management (iPDM) products and solutions through their Accu-Chek range of blood glucose monitoring systems, including Accu-Chek Active, Accu-Chek Guide, Accu-Chek Instant, and Accu-Chek Instant S, as well as tech-driven solutions on their mobile application, mySugr.
