Under the purview of this MoU, both Max Healthcare Institute and RCOG are committed to fostering the advancement of obstetrics and gynaecology training, encompassing comprehensive assessment methodologies, and ensuring the certification of training programs within India.
A senior representative from Max Healthcare Institute disclosed that the training initiative is designed to accommodate up to 10 trainees annually. This structured program, spanning a duration of two to five years, will be conducted at Max Healthcare’s tertiary care hospitals situated in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). Notably, the curriculum and standards upheld will mirror those of the United Kingdom, thus ensuring a parallel quality of education and training.
Reflecting on this pivotal collaboration, President Ranee Thakar of RCOG expressed optimism regarding the program’s potential to bolster the ranks of RCOG-trained physicians. Prospective candidates interested in enrolling in the program are required to possess a medical degree (MBBS) along with additional qualifications such as a Diploma in Gynaecology and Obstetrics (DGO), Diplomate of National Board (DNB), or MD/MS in Gynaecology from recognized national or international medical institutions accredited under the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Final selection will be contingent upon successful panel interviews conducted by the institution.
